Congratulations!
With an up-to-date, comfortable, well equipped sanctuary inside a beautiful building located right in the middle of town it’s no wonder couples in the community often ask that their big day happen at the United Methodist Church of St. Clair. As a ministry to you and your new life and new family; we want to be a part of that big day. Give us a shout and we’ll be glad to gather together the information needed to make your big day at the UMC of St. Clair special.
What is available for our wedding?
A sanctuary that will seat 150 comfortably (and a few more if they get along pretty well!), a grand piano (With a pianist available certain dates), and audio visual equipment. A fully equipped large kitchen and large fellowship hall, and a location that is central in St. Clair and located just off of I-44 for your traveling friends and relatives.
What will our wedding look like?
For the most part, that is up to you! You will meet with the Pastor to plan your wedding ceremony. There are a few components that are required; but the rest of the ceremony is up to you. Please understand, however, that the Pastor may not allow certain things; like inappropriate musical selections or decorations that couple harm the building.
What about costs?
Because it costs to operate and maintain the building; we do collect a small deposit along with affordable fees. Fees vary based on services used. To ensure that you have the most up-to-date information, contact the office at 636-629-0350 or e-mail at office@umcstclair.com.
What if I have my own Pastor?
With permission from the Pastor, other clergy are invited to participate at the wedding (they will need to contact the Pastor first); but the church is not available for weddings where our Pastor is excluded.
What do I need to do?
With ample time before the wedding, contact the church office (636-629-0350; office@umcstclair.com) to schedule the wedding. Pre-marital counseling with the Pastor is required. We believe there’s an awesome responsibility in officiating at a Christian Wedding and we want to see you succeed. Therefore, no wedding will be performed without the couple first meeting for required counseling with the Pastor.
What about photographers, caterers, etc.?
Contact the church office for more information. Most vendors are welcome, but there may be restrictions during the ceremony. For safety and insurance reasons, all vendors (including caterers, photographers, etc.,) who will be coming onto the church grounds need to be approved, and must be willing to operate within the guidelines of the UMC of St. Clair’s wedding policy.
